Trees seen whispering
To the fading grass below
“It’s that time again.
Leaves are preparing.
Who’ll be first to fall,
And cover you with color,
Smothering your blades,
Saturating the landscape
With variegated patchwork?”

August tried to warn
Us of her impending move.
She sent us cool drafts,
Chilling memos of warning.
Yet, wrapped in sweaters
We missed her exiting.
Undercover of night,
With just the moon as witness,
Fall bearing September came.
Choka

Scent of Fall swirls as
Gossipping leaves rustle
September arrives
Haiku

As my prayers ascend
To Him who is on high
Blessings come down
Covering my path
Like falling leaves
Syllabic Verse

Whispering
In the trees
Nipping at my nose
Dancing with the leaves
Acrostic

Tides rise and fall
Opportunities do too
Ocean never rests
Dont let opportunies fall
The wise rise not rest
Tanka

Delicate
Kale, content til
Freedom’s breeze
Carried you.
You danced among the trees.
Sky cried the day you fell
Shadorma

On a dark Fall day
Breeze lifts a fallen leaf
A soul is reborn
Haiku
Though the world looks dreary
Though the leaves are fallen
Life still goes on
Haiku

Like golden stars
Leaves scattered in my yard
Brighten a Fall day
