Manifold

Tamborine
“Manifold” Tambourine

Many kinds; numerous and varied:

Are God’s Grace and Wisdom shown

To beings in the heavenlies

And to those in the world

By us the church on earth

If we minister

To one another

With our

Gifts

Nonet

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:10

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, Ephesians 3:10

(The photo is of one of my Tambourines that I use in praise and worship. I name all my Tambourines as I feel each instrument has a different purpose. This Tamborine I named “Manifold” because it reflects light in so many ways. I use it in worship to praise God for His Manifold Grace And Wisdom according to the scriptures 1 Peter 4:10 and Ephesians 3:10 )

Thanksgiving

Fall Oak Leaf

Thank you God

For the trees that wave

Good Morning

To me

As I gaze in wonder

At he whose wings beat wildly

While he drinks nectar

In the rain

The breeze brings

a brown leaf to greet me

Upon the window pane

He stops briefly

As if to say

We are both aged

yet

let’s keep moving, seeking,

Another day of life

As if on cue

future minded squirrel

scurries past

gathering acorns

supplied by the waving trees

Ah, so much life surrounds me!

I give thanks

For all that be

and for eyes that see

thru the window to the world

Just outside my door

Where all God’s creation breathes

And lives

And encourages me

To do the same.

This titled form was invented in 1999 by Craig Tigerman, Sol Magazine’s Lead Editor. Only one word is allowed in the title followed by a single seven-line stanza. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title. Hortensia Anderson, a popular haiku and tanka poet, added her own requirement of restricting the line length to six syllables. Inside and Out

Person in thought, dreaming inside, beside a window covered in raindrops

Emotions stir inside of me

Thoughts rushing in like a hurricane

Cripple my mind causing great pain

Cold feet numb, desire to flee

Would I not gotten so intense

Spoke out loud the things inside

Revealed hurts instead of hide

Tried to reason with offense

But nay, I kept it trapped within

Tongue lies silent in its tomb

Nerves on edge await their doom

I need new life to begin

God reveal to me what to do

No one knows me better than You

What is inside you (thoughts, feelings etc) that should be out to the world, but aren’t? Do you have anything inside you that is out, but that you didn’t want to be? Or maybe you are relieved that these ‘inside’ feelings are finally ‘out’?

Dear God

,Carpet of fallen leaves

Do you see the real me

Beneath the heavenly skies

Leaf covered path

On my daily walk I pass by and over so many fallen leaves, some noticeable, some not. Some freshly fallen are filled with beautiful colors while some are withered, lifeless, or hidden beneath others.

It causes me to think that they are like many of us in this world. Some of us are more noticeable than others, perhaps more lively, active or attractive while others might be older, less active, or perhaps feel insignificant or hidden because they are covered in worries or burdens.

Just like the many leaves they may wonder if anyone sees the real them.

But the truth is that God does.

He sees us all, for that is one of His names.

In Genesis 16:13 it says “So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are ‘God who sees,’ because I have truly seen the one who looks after me.”

Hagar was a runaway who was alone in the wilderness with her child, she figured no one cared about her and she thought she and her son were going to die—alone….but God saw her and He spoke to her and helped her.

Matthew 10:29 says that not even a sparrow falls to the earth without God knowing about it, so I am thinking it must be the same for leaves and people too. He sees us all.

Everbody matters

For the clear truth is written

He’s “God who sees me”

Color Beyond Better

Colored pencils forming a heart shape

Broken crayons still color

Broken hearts still love

Color your world bright

Color is beautiful

Love everyone

Love never fails

Bright spots attract growth

Bright days attract smiles

Beautiful smiles

Beautiful thoughts

Everyone needs a smile

Everyone matters

Fails are bound to happen

Fails are opportunities to try again

Growth comes from fails

Growth often happens slowly

Smiles are free

Smiles are needed

Smiles are upside down frowns

Smiles lighten up the world

Thoughts spoken can cause regret

Thoughts unspoken can cause regret

Smile at life, you only get one chance

Smile at life and things will go better

Matters of the heart

Matters of the mind

Happen to all of us

Happen unexpectedly

Again and again and

Again and again

Fails are just one time errs not failures

Fails are a chance to try something new

Slowly time goes for those who wait

Slowly time goes for the lonely

Free yourself from doubts trust God

Free yourself from worry trust God

Needed people who are friendly

Needed people who care

Frowns compliment garments of gloom

Frowns are smiles upside down

World needs your love

World needs your smile

Regret steals happiness

Regret steals time

Chance offers new opportunities

Chance offers new life

Better life can be yours today

Better take a chance before it’s too late

Better

Better

Blitz

#OctPoWriMo 2018

Whew! This is my first try at writing a Blitz poem! It was a challenge, somewhat confusing at times, and took me awhile but I enjoyed it and I will be trying this form out again! Info is below if you would like to try writing one.

The Blitz Poem, a poetry form created by Robert Keim.

This form of poetry is a stream of short phrases and images with repetition and rapid flow.

Begin with one short phrase, it can be a cliché. Begin the next line with another phrase that begins with the same first word as line 1. The first 48 lines should be short, but at least two words.

The third and fourth lines are phrases that begin with the last word of the 2nd phrase, the 5th and 6th lines begin with the last word of the 4th line, and so on, continuing, with each subsequent pair beginning with the last word of the line above them, which establishes a pattern of repetition.

Continue for 48 total lines with this pattern, And then the last two lines repeat the last word of line 48, then the last word of line 47.

The title must be only three words, with some sort of preposition or conjunction joining the first word from the third line to the first word from the 47th line, in that order.

There should be no punctuation. When reading a BLITZ, it is read very quickly, pausing only to breathe.

(Blitz poem info was taken from Poetry Soup website )

Of Plans and Paths

Path

An unexpected crack in my plans

Puts me on a path of imperfection

I must keep myself from slipping

And with new eyes, begin again

I can’t let my plans slip away

I must now patch the imperfection

That arose and caused me to have

An unexpected crack in my plans

With new eyes I search for an answer

That will help me smooth out my plans

To keep me from a happening that

Puts me on a path of imperfection

As I avidly search to find the answer

I come upon one who offers help

He extends His strong hand, I grasp it

I must keep myself from slipping

My kind strong Helper leads me to new places

Places where I can find perfect plans

Good sound plans created just for me

And with new eyes begin again
