When clouds of adversity hover

As they someday surely will

Dont give up and run for cover

When clouds of adversity hover

Stand firm and you’ll discover

There’s strength in standing still

When clouds of adversity hover

As they someday surely will

March’s Marquee

Yellow and White Crocus blooming

“Coming soon” the signs say

Bits of color speak loud and clear

As I walk the dreary way

Coming soon” the signs say

Birds sing of a brighter day

Spring color will soon be here

“Coming soon” the signs say

Bits of color speak loud and clear

Hearts in My Path

Heart shape on blacktop in parking lot
Heart shape on blacktop in parking lot

Heartprints

Everywhere

Left by those who care

Mean more than fingerprints or

Footprints

Cinquain

( I was surprised to see another heart shape in my path today as I walked thru the parking lot at my local grocery store. This one was just a dry patch in the wet blacktop, not sure how it came to be there but it caught my eye. The last heart shape I saw a couple weeks ago in the parking lot was created from gum or candy I think. Just amazing that I keep seeing these heart shapes in my path. Looks like someone is leaving heartprints! 😊 )

Reminds me of the beautiful poem I posted below by an Unknown Author . It’s titled “Heartprints”

Heartprints

Whatever our hands touch – we leave fingerprints!

On walls, on furniture, doorknobs, dishes, books – there’s no escape!

As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh God, wherever I go today, help me leave heartprints!

Heartprints of compassion, of understanding and love,

Heartprints of kindness and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lovely neighbor, or a runaway daughter

or an anxious mother, or perhaps even a friend.

Lord, send me out today to leave heartprints.

And if someone should say “I felt your touch”,

May that one sense YOUR LOVE

Touching them through ME!

“I’ve Been to the Mountaintop”

Martin Luther King

To a nation racially torn

Peace he sought to bring

Senryu

I’ve Been to the Mountaintop”

“We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter with me now because I’ve been to the mountaintop… I’ve looked over and I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land.”  —Martin Luther King speech, April 3, 1968

(In tribute to a great man who left us too soon.)

Searcher of the Scattered

Ezekiel 34 scripture

As a Good Shepherd

The Lord God

Seeks, saves His sheep

Syllable Lune

For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.”

Ezekiel 34:11-12 KJV

Modern Slavery

Modern Slavery Info GraphicImage provided by Dressember.org

Victims

Know no freedom

Mired in slavery

They pray and hope for a victor

To come

Cinquain

Modern slavery exists today in many places worldwide. Be it sexual exploitation, forced marriage, or forced labor, many women, men and children are victims.

You can help set them free by spreading awareness, making a donation to help one of the many organizations in their fight to stop this, or simply just pray that those who can help or intervene will do so.

I have teamed up with Dressember.org this month as a Advocate to spread awareness and raise funds. If you’d like to donate to my team’s campaign “Help Stop the Chains of Abuse” I would very much appreciate your support.

Handmade Origami Dress Ornaments I will be giving a free handmade Origami Dress Ornament to anyone who makes a donation of $5.00 or more by December 15th.

Click this link to donate securely to my team at: Dressember 2019

Thank you.

Blessings and Sorrows

As blessings come

So do many sorrows

All have some

Present, or tomorrows

Like a beating drum

Life constantly harrows

As blessings come

So do many sorrows

Keep the faith to overcome

And stand strong in all the morrows

Inspired by:–Don Moen–“Be It Onto Me” song lyrics:

You promised to carry our sorrows
Lord, we believe it’s true
You promised unending tomorrows
Lord we receive them from you
