Thoughts of cherry trees on
Gloomy winter afternoon
Paintbrush reads my mind
Haiku

The sun sleeps.
Rain drizzles upon
Decaying leaves.
Misty morn.
In the bleakness, a patch of red.
Camellia blooms.
Shadorma
My Camellia plant offers a bright spot of color on this dreary January day.

Thirty one blank pages
written upon.
Their newness fades.
Resolutions
slipping away.
January
bids us goodbye.
Syllabic Verse

Saw a Robin today
Come to chase winter away
Flying in to help celebrate
January’s final day
Ruba’i

Quickly
Moving
Like a river
January
Days swiftly flowing
Into cold, damp, dark nights
Causing man and beast a chill
As they wish for the breath of Spring
To blow across the land once again
Bringing with it longer days and new life.
Etheree

Another
January
Will be leaving me soon
Each year months seem to go by faster
Time flies
