Shines thru trees
Chasing grayness away
Sun competes as tree shadows
Soon fade
Snow melts
Sunshine heat
Restores green carpet
Birds fly in, noisely inspect the scene,
With glee
Double Cinquain
Out into the cold,
Adventure
Awaits as
Frozen twigs snap beneath my
Heavy booted feet.
In the night
A weak little lamb
Strayed away
From the flock
Searching for greener pastures
Led by the enemy
My heart aches
But not from the cold
Rod in hand
I walk in
My Father’s Authority
Clinging to His Word
Fear tries to
Silently creep in
Doubt tries to
Overwhelm
But my feet are as hinds feet
And my mind is sure
Determined
To save the lost
I move on
To overcome
My face set like flint
Lord God is my help
Wintery
Brisk air fills my lungs
As I cry out
At the sight
Rejoicefully I carry
My long lost sheep home!

Life is full
Of ups and downs
One day it’s laughter
Next day it’s frowns
The warmth of the Light
Causes us to ascend
We move and grow
As on Light we depend
Only in darkness
Does motion cease
Seek the Light this year
And you will increase
