An angel left us
Silently, went to heaven
Christmas Eve morn.
Fifteen years of her friendship
Remains in our memories.
Tanka
A tribute to our family cat who passed away this last Christmas Eve morning.

Accept His word and you will
Bear fruit abundantly as you
Inhabit and
Dwell with Him, you will
Endure all seasons of life

Once again we say
Goodbye to another year lived
We look back at days
The precious jewels of time
They live in our mind
Shining, jaded, memories
Remain, we reflect
Upon the good and bad days
Gone forever from us
Choka

In a world of hurt
One heart among many
Can bring souls comfort
One heart that’s surrendered
Completely to God’s will

As I continue to read the true story of Katie Davis Majors heart’s commitment to God and His will, I am amazed at what God has done through her for the people in Uganda.
I recommend reading her book “Kisses for Katie”. It’s a great testimony of what God can accomplish through one heart that’s totally surrendered to Him.

When all else fails
Remaining immovable
Holding on to life

My feet planted firmly,
An Advocate for justice.
Firm foundation holds,
Under girds, and supports me daily.
I stand for what I believe.

One heart
Filled with His love
Overflows
Submerging
Many others with its fervor
Changing many lives

This poem was inspired by a book I am reading titled “Kisses for Katie”. It is a true story of a young American girl Katie Davis who leaves her comfortable lifestyle in America to go to help the under privileged people of Uganda. Her one heart full of love for these people ended up changing many lives for the better. It is an amazing story that continues today thru the non- profit ministry “Amazima.” Which she started in 2008.

Into the the world
He came one quiet night
As just small baby
Nondescript, invisible
Yet He changed things forever
Tanka

A world in darkness
Laid silently
Until Heaven arrived
Into the silence
Of the night
A Light came forth
Syllable Lunes

The hustle and bustle
On the city sidewalks
Disappears from view
As the two weary travelers
Seek shelter in a stable

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
