Its snowing again
Winter’s presence now known
All the ground is white
Winter makes news again
Record snow levels
Are set across our state
Cold temperatures
Turn Oregon rains icy
We try to stay warm inside

Snow dusted bushes
Inspired sweet thoughts of cookies
After Christmas joy
Baking some Almond Crescents
Sprinkling powdered sugar
Tanka
Bursting with flavor
Pomegranate afternoon
Ruby red jewels
Meet tastebuds after lunch
A sweet tart interaction

A frozen red rose
Snow covered late bloomer

Life is full
Of ups and downs
One day it’s laughter
Next day it’s frowns
The warmth of the Light
Causes us to ascend
We move and grow
As on Light we depend
Only in darkness
Does motion cease
Seek the Light this year
And you will increase
