Sky Addiction

“Yeah, Right!” 🙂  I wrote this silly rhyme for those of us who are Sky Watchers.
Sky Watchers are simply hooked on photographing the clouds and sky!  Every day there is something new to see!  No matter how many times we look up and see fluffy clouds, blue skies or rainbows we get excited and grab for our cameras! 🙂
If you can relate, there is a fantastic group on Facebook called Cloud Watching &  Beautiful Sky-scapes.  I belong to this group and never tire of seeing the hundreds of sky/cloud pictures posted by the group members daily from all over the world!

Rainbow

Double Rainbow picture--Tanka poem based on Genesis 9:13-16
Original Poetry and Photograph by Leona J. Atkinson ©2016

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.  Genesis 9:12-16 KJV

Oregon Sky

Oregon Sky--photo and Senryu poem
Original Poetry and Photograph by Leona J. Atkinson ©2016

The sun popped out for just a few minutes–I stepped outside to snap a picture–the result was this photo that looked like the shape of Oregon!  (I did not crop this photo into this shape–it just happened because of the area where I was standing when I took the photo)
I figured this unusual photo deserved a poem to be written for it! 🙂
