Talking with my neighbor,
Keeping our 6 foot distance,
Our words floating through the air
Land upon others ears
Across the courtyard.
Soon a 6 foot convention
Gathers. “The new normal.”

Today
While in my path
A stranger I did meet
Speaking a language not my own
Smiling
I hushed the cute brown pup
Whose ire I’d arisen
By walking near
His home

NaPoWriMo Day 13–Prompt: “Someone Said” write a poem about a conversation with a stranger.

I am my mother’s face in the mirror,
As I speak her favorite quotes
To myself, that “This Too Shall Pass”.
I am dad’s voice echoing,
“Don’t Forget, Smell The Flowers”.
I am God’s Spirit,
Reflecting Him
To the world,
At this
Time.

I gave life to a word today
I released it in haste
It formed like an arrow
Piercing its target deep
In regret I tried
To take it back
But it still
Left a
Mark
I gave life to a word today
Releasing it with tenderness
It formed like an a heart
Hugging its target tight
Awaking lost dreams
To hope again
Happily it
Left a
Mark

Be careful how you speak and what words you bring to life as they all leave a mark and make a difference.

Today
I live in a dictionary
With words as house mates
We’re building
Together
A poem
Called Meta
Composed of verses
It alphabetically speaks
In words

A phenomenon
The sky was speaking tonight
In soft blues and pinks
Haiku
Sunset tonight in my area must have been spectacular for as I looked out my North window I saw an amazing sky layered in blues and pinks. I can only imagine what the Western sky displayed!

#NaPoWriMo–Day 27–write a poem using very long lines
My version of Long Line Poetry is 19 lines–each line alternating with 19 and 17 syllables
