You go to bed before the sun sets
I am a night owl, burning the midnight oil
Yet we are friends
You like hazelnuts, spice cake, and tea
I like licorice, mint and coffee
Yet we are friends
You like cool nights and enjoy the rain
I like it warm and enjoy hot summer days
Yet we are friends
You like flip flops and air conditioning
I like sneakers and natural air
Yet we are still friends
Your skin is a different color from mine
My skin is a different color from yours
Yet we are friends
We are all different
We are all unique
That’s what makes us each special
We all have likes and dis-likes
Our skin maybe a different color
But we can still all be friends
We can agree to disagree
Walk in friendship and love
And enjoy a life of harmony
Sharing with each other
Every nation, tribe, language and people.
For we are all God’s Masterpiece according to Ephesians 2:10

Yes, you are unique! There’s
Only one you in this whole
Universe! Imagine that!
Many might make
Attempts to be like you, but
Try though they might,
They’ll never be you,
Ever! Because you are special!
Remember that!

Amid masses

As I was walking to my car I noticed the many leaves scattered all across the parking lot. Their colors vividly showed against the black pavement. The leaves seemed to all be from the colorful Maple trees that were planted nearby—except—right by my car I noticed one lonely Oak leaf lying in among all the Maple leaves. Thus, an inspiration for today’s poem.
