Watching as you leave…
August, you brought lots of sunshine,
Must I say goodbye?
I am not looking forward
To those Fall days
Of less sun and shorter days
That September brings.
Oh, that Summertime would linger
Instead of running away.

Come sit awhile
On the comfy garden bench,
Neath’ the tall pine trees.
Let the sun melt away your cares.
Close your eyes and rest.
Nature’s tranquility
Will refresh your soul,
And you will leave renewed
To face another day of life.

In the early morn,
Rising with the summer sun,
Waking with the birds,
I sit among trees and flowers,
Sipping coffee as
Windchimes serenade me.
A squirrel scurries,
Butterflies flutter, bees buzz.
My garden shuts out the world.

Waiting,
For summertime.
Looking for the sunshine
To chase away the dull gray days
Of life.

July 5th and it’s still cloudy, gloomy, chilly weather outside. We are ready for some warm, sunny days, but still waiting for summer weather to arrive. Hope it does soon.
Across the heavens
Stretches a banner of fire
Blazing summer sun
Haiku
All day I enjoyed the presence and the heat of the Summer Sun that has once again visited my area in the Pacific Northwest. I love summer and sunshine!
Last night that summer sun left us in a blaze of fiery red, orange and yellow glory, stretching across the western horizon like a banner. It was amazing to see the beauty of it!
I was able to capture it with my cell phone camera but the picture just doesn’t show the full depth of its intense color.
Twenty Two days since
June arrived to bring us
Summertime again
How long we have waited
Anticipating
The sunshine to greet us
Each morning we woke
And now in the midst of it
We treasure each moment
Choka
Sound of a lawnmower
The smell of freshly cut grass
Childhood memories
Of summertime mornings
And Saturday chores
Mom cleaning the whole house
Dad working in the yard
Me trying in vain to sleep in
Cus my sheets gotta be washed

Thursday is usually the day the landscapers cut the grass here in the complex where I live. Since today was a warm sunny day ( in the 70’s) I was outside tending to my plants and experienced that smell of freshly cut grass, which I love, and it also brought back some childhood memories of summertime Saturdays. 😊
Cheerful tiny blooms
A scattering of yellow
Birds plant flower seeds
Haiku
Not sure how these pretty little yellow blooms came to be here in my garden, as I didn’t plant them, perhaps the birds carried some seeds and dropped them here. I am not sure if they are weeds or flowers, but I am enjoying the sight of them as they add a bit of color to my otherwise non blooming garden area right now.
I’m going on vacation
Bags are packed, ready to go
Plans made, work is done
I’m going on vacation
Looking foward to fun
Expectations high, doubts are low
I’m going on vacation
Bags are packed, ready to go

Isn’t it great when we can plan and take a vacation?
Whether is just an overnight stay, a few days away or just a day trip it’s an exciting time.
The planning and packing sometimes are better than the trip itself because of the adrenaline rush they bring into our life.
Something new awaits us!
We are leaving our comfort zone and venturing out into the unknown, anticipating good results!
It’s summer, time for vacations, pack up, go make memories that you can savor when the chilly winds of fall arrive in your life and winter knocks on your door with her icy fingers.
Even if everything doesn’t go as planned you will still be able to look back and be thankful that you took time to take a break and enjoy life!
Summertime scents
A feast for the the senses
Bushels of color
Haiku
While on a walk this evening I saw this beautiful amazing yard filled with flowers everywhere! It was just bursting with color and fragrance. I had to stop and snap a pic of one of the “bushels” of flowers.
