Mundane thoughts hover like clouds.
Suddenly!
The raindrops seem to evaporate
And grey sky disappears!
Sunshine brings

Life has surprises
Sometimes we just need
To Doodle a Poodle

Today was one of those lazy days for me. It was chilly, windy, rainy outside and that just made me want to stay inside, sit on the couch and draw or read.
I ended up doodling, on my phone, which I don’t often do, but found it quite enjoyable today.
Years ago when my grand-kids were all littles and the four of them we’re having breakfast at my house I invented a game to keep them focused while eating. We all loved to eat toast with jelly in the mornings so I asked them to each come up with a name for the shape of their toast after they took a bite or two out of it. We all came up with some amazing shapes of dogs, cats, people, etc that caused many laughs and memories. It got to be a fun tradition which they remember to this day even though they are all grown up.
So today as I was eating my toast and jelly for breakfast I tried it again just for fun and got a shape which I thought looked like a dog’s head.😊 I snapped a picture and ended up doodling it into a poodle, which I will be sharing with the grand-kids via phone message later today. 😊
You just never know what life will bring you each day!
Today even though it was stormy outside and I was disappointed with the weather because I had wanted to go to Free senior day at the local zoo but didn’t because of the rain, wind and cold, I had a fun day inside creating memories.
Hope you did also! 😊

Prayers out sent to cover
Those its fury hath touched
Prayers sent up to gather
And bring winds of change
Turning the path’s course
To remain at sea

Prayers for those in the Bahamas who are facing the destruction of Dorian’s wrath at this time.
Praying it’s fury will be lessened and it’s path turned out to sea so it will not make landfall anywhere else.

This summer we have not seen many sunny warm days.
The weather has been usually cool and even rainy.
Our fruit and vegetables have been aching for sunshine in order to ripen.
Each day I check the Weather App and smile as it tells me the high will be 80-85 and then as the day progresses my smile fades as the sun stays hidden and the temp doesn’t rise as predicted.
I keep hoping though that one of these days I will see summer arise again!

#NaPoWriMo 2019–Day 10–Today, I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that starts from a regional phrase, particularly one to describe a weather phenomenon. You may remember one from growing up

Miss Moody March marches merrily
Away again as April approches and
Rises, returning resplendently radiant
Cancelling cold, creating colorful, cheery
Happy, hopeful habitats. Hallelujah!
