Sky threatens, yet the sun shines
Like Politics
Often all talk and no action
Actions speak louder than words
Tanka
Like a Lion’s loud roar
Shaking the barren tree limbs
From their sleepy core
Awakening season’s centers
To life once more
Then the Lion sleeps, time dims
March shuts Winter’s door
With Daffodil’s as assenters
And Songbirds galore
March leads a chorus of hymns
Life to restore
As Springtime rain mentors
March exits, no encore.
Like a frisky Lamb she skims
Toward the exit door
Double Trochee
DOUBLE TROCHEE: 4 quatrains–96 syllables–7-5-7-5 –7-5-7-5– 7-5-7-5 –7-5-7-5– Rhyme: a-b-c-b
Breathes on Spring’s appearance
Budded trees shivering
Haiku
A nightime visitor
Footprints in the snow
Haiku
I wasn’t quite sure just who this visitor was so I checked online and matched the tracks to a Squirrrel. Quite interesting that they have 4 font toes and 5 back toes.
Squirrel Footprint Art on Pinterest maybe I will get creative and give that a try! 😊
Not a pretty sight
Snow falling
Unexpected
People trapped in traffic
And kids stuck at school

Winter has returned with a vengeance here in the Pacific Northwest. Very unusual weather for us in the Willamette Valley.
