While the world is falling apart
My neighbors and I are building
Relationships, gardens, and ideas
In our little corner of the world
We are making the most of each day
That we have to build friendships and
Create beauty while we can
No not burying our heads in the sand
But focusing on the positive
And ignoring negativity
We live sensibly in unity
Praying, trusting in theLord and doing good

Love the truth in this poem as well as your painting. We do not need to be weighed down by what is going on around us. As you said, there is much we can do to make our world a better place in spite of other things.
