Come sit awhile
Relax after a long day
Solitude awaits
As nature surrounds you
With evening breezes
That carry cares away
Bringing joy to your ears
The lullabies of songbirds
Cuddling their young in their nests
Choka
Come sit awhile
Relax after a long day
Solitude awaits
As nature surrounds you
With evening breezes
That carry cares away
Bringing joy to your ears
The lullabies of songbirds
Cuddling their young in their nests
Choka
Come sit awhile
On the comfy garden bench,
Neath’ the tall pine trees.
Let the sun melt away your cares.
Close your eyes and rest.
Nature’s tranquility
Will refresh your soul,
And you will leave renewed
To face another day of life.
Choka
Who will visit me
Maybe a bee
Or leaf fallen from a tree
There is a possiblity
It may be a dignitary
On this bright Spring day
Or a tired child at play
Come what may
Night or day
All are welcome
Not just some
So whether King or Bum
I don’t care where you’re from
If you’re passing by
Please sit and say “Hi”
Skeltonic Verse
I took this photo at a house that had been foreclosed on. It prompted this poem.
