In the early morn,
Rising with the summer sun,
Waking with the birds,
I sit among trees and flowers,
Sipping coffee as
Windchimes serenade me.
A squirrel scurries,
Butterflies flutter, bees buzz.
My garden shuts out the world.

Choka
Sitting here on my couch
Gazing out my window
Things quiet and serene
Sunshine steaming down
Upon the daffodils
Birds happily feasting
As squirrel scurries by
Nature seems content
Not a worry nor care
Oh that we were there
Syllabic Verse
“Nature doesn’t hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” – Lao Tzu
This quote was on the tag of my favorite herbal tea bag. Ah, yes, that mankind could model nature…
Each day
My ship sets sail
Traveling in calm waters
Or stormy, it always has a firm
Anchor
Cinquain
My mind is racing
Thoughts are swirling in my head
Like leaves in the wind
I hear the sound of your voice
Suddenly all becomes calm
Tanka
