I am the sun shining

I am a bird singing

I am a flower blooming

I am a squirrel scurrying

I am the wind swirling

I am a leaf falling

I am a tear on a cheek

I am an aging voice

I am a child’s laughter

I am a stranger’s smile

I am a mother’s hug

I am a spoken word

I stand at your door knocking

I stand waiting for you to find me

I stand in the silence of night

I stand amid the noisy throng

I stand among your daily moments

Everywhere

Tiny seeds of kindness

Some grew and joyfully to me

Returned

Cinquain

Oh so far away

A precious gift is dying

Bleaching is taking

It’s beautiful color

As sediments smother

And chemicals cause harm

Coral Reefs need help

What can we possibly do

To help save the Coral?

Simultaneous Sights and Sounds

Sunset

Last night

The sun painted

The western sky orange red,

While fingers plucked harp strings

Inside.

Soothing sounds enveloped my ears,

Drowning out the darkness

Of reality

Outside.

A home

Just blocks away,

While my ears heard sweet words,

Others were being torn apart

Inside,

As the blackness of a cold heart,

Unleased its bitterness,

Drowning a soul

In tears.
