Thanksgiving

Fall Oak Leaf

Thank you God

For the trees that wave

Good Morning

To me

As I gaze in wonder

At he whose wings beat wildly

While he drinks nectar

In the rain

The breeze brings

a brown leaf to greet me

Upon the window pane

He stops briefly

As if to say

We are both aged

yet

let’s keep moving, seeking,

Another day of life

As if on cue

future minded squirrel

scurries past

gathering acorns

supplied by the waving trees

Ah, so much life surrounds me!

I give thanks

For all that be

and for eyes that see

thru the window to the world

Just outside my door

Where all God’s creation breathes

And lives

And encourages me

To do the same.

Perplexity

Helping hand

Just

Do not

Understand it!

I am a helper,

I love to help,

But why doesn’t everyone?

Why are some selfish,

Unwilling to give a helping hand?

I just don’t understand it at all!

They are missing out on so very much.

Fragile

Box makes Fragile

Boxes

All shapes

And all sizes

Like people

They hold things inside

Secrets, treasures, dreams

Or maybe unwanted things like

Bitterness, unforgiveness

Handle all boxes with care because

They can be damaged inside and out

Stopped

Out of Order sign

“Out of Order”

The sign said

I didn’t

Like what

I just read

It made me

“Out of Order”

Syllabic Verse

Shopping, rushing to the restroom, stopped by this sign. Stand there and stare blankly for a minute, regroup thoughts, make a plan B and move on.

On a long walk, so thirsty, remember there’s drinking fountain at the park, but a sign says….”Out of Order”–(plan B again)

So tired of walking around the Mall, friend wants to go to the food court on the third level, head to the elevator, but…guess what!!!

I am sure we can all relate to having those “Out of Order” days. They are not fun but they sure slow us down and make us think! 😊

Endless

Eternal life,

Eternal life awaits

Everyone who will

Express true faith in Christ

Each one has a chance

Extend your your heart and

Embrace God’s free gift

Embodied in Jesus

Pleiades

This titled form was invented in 1999 by Craig Tigerman, Sol Magazine’s Lead Editor. Only one word is allowed in the title followed by a single seven-line stanza. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title. Hortensia Anderson, a popular haiku and tanka poet, added her own requirement of restricting the line length to six syllables. Counting Blessings

Number 13

Thirteen

My lucky number

That’s the date of my birth

Glad mom wasn’t superstitious

That day

OctPoWriMo Day 29

Theme: By The Numbers

Most people think the number 13 is an unlucky number but since I was born on that day I have had to consider it positively as my parents always thought me to be a blessing to them and weren’t superstitious.

(Besides, I was born on a Tuesday not on a Friday!) 😊
