Just One Word

Blackboard, open journal, flowers, message Write! It all begins with one word

Today I wrote a word

Just one short word

It sat there awhile

All alone it sat

Until inspiration

Caused it to grow

And multiply itself

Creating a story

Of three thousand words

The power of pen

And inspiration

Can change the world

A Word Like an Arrow

Heart with arrow
Harshly spoken into the night air

The word like a poison arrow landed

Seemingly twas shot without a care

Harshly spoken into the night air

Its speaker seemed quite unaware

That a young loving heart was badly branded

Harshly spoken into the night air

The word like a poison arrow landed

Portrait of The Word

Names of Jesus
A Friend

Who never leaves

A Brother who sticks close

A Savior who died for me

Jesus

The Christ

The Way, Truth, Life

Redeemer of my soul

The Wisdom and Power of God

My All

Today’s #NaPoWriMo Prompt was to write a portrait poem about someone who was important to you. I wrote this about the One whom I love dearly.

It is a portrait of The Word based on:John 1:1, Matthew 11:19, Hebrews 2:11-12, Luke 2:11, Matthew 1:21, Matthew 22:42, John 14:6, Job 19:25, 1 Corinthians 1:24, Colossians 3:11
