Book of Remembrance

Book of Remembrance based on Malachi3:16-17--Choka poem
Original Poetry by Leona J. Atkinson ©2016

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Malachi 3:16-17 KJV

Appearing

Appearing out of nowhere,
These old enemies of mine,
Cause me to falter
As I begin to write each line.

Self Doubt, Intimidation, Fear,
All make their appearance.
They cause my mind to wander,
With their sudden interference.

Yet somewhere within me,
Another appearance is made.
Confidence and Determination enter,
And cause those enemies to fade.

Once again I begin to write,
And the challenge I do undertake.
It appears my poems will be written,
And perhaps a chapbook I will make!

In Honor of the Pen

To celebrate this
National Ball Point Pen Day
I buy a new pen
I write a new style of poem
My choice handwritten Tanka

Tanka
(My first try at writing a Tanka, which is 5-7-5-7-7 syllables with the third line as a pivot)

To day is National Ball Point Pen Day
Brothers, Laszlo and Gyorgy Biro,  are credited with the invention of the ballpoint pen and obtained a patent in June of 1943.
