Adverse to Autumn’s Arrival

Brick pathway with scattered pink rose petals

Today

In the garden

I saw hints of Autumn

And I’m not ready to bid Summer

Goodbye

Cinquain

I realized today that August is nearly over and that in about one month Autumn will arrive and I am not at all ready for that!

Summer got started here a month late, and I’m just not looking forward to losing those long warm sunny days yet.

Ah, but every year I fight a losing battle as Summer runs and Winter walks and I can’t do anything about it.

  1. It was about 86′ here today and sunny until late afternoon when it started to cloud over, but no rain. I don’t look forward to autumn either. As you said, summer runs, and winter walks. Maybe even crawls some years.
