Life’s on rerun
Nothing new under the sun
It all has been done
Haiku
The thing that hath been, it is thatwhich shall be; and that which is done isthat which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. Ecclesiastes 1: 9-11

The days shall become
A place for refreshment
For the weary soul.
Haiku
For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Jeremiah 31:25

One day
God’s voice spoke,
And the morning stars sang.
The sons of God shouted for joy!
Creation!
Cinquain
“ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy”… Job 38:7

Dwelling in the midst
Of closed eyes, ears, and minds
Rebellious house
Shuttered ears are deaf
To the truth knocking
Closed eyes can’t see the truth
Through shuttered windows
Mutinous minds existing
Behind hostility’s doors
Choka
Poem based on this scripture:
“Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.” Ezekiel 12:2
Prompt: write a poem that involves rebellion in some way.

The Lord has future plans for me that are good.
I trust in Him, for I know He will act.
He has plans that are exact.
He will give me an abundant life.
I do not have to worry,
or be in a hurry.
He will provide for me,
As He provides for the birds of the air.
I can depend on His care.
Therefore, I will delight myself in Him,
and trust in Him, for He does guarantee
the desires of my heart He’ll give to me.
As I trust Him and acknowledge Him,
He will direct my paths and make them straight,
And they’ll lead me right to Heaven’s gate.
My eye, nor ear, nor heart, cannot even imagine
what He has prepared for me,
Here on earth and in the Heavenly.
I have faith that He will reward me as I seek Him,
and love Him with all my heart, mind and soul.
That is my future, that is my goal.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6)

#NaPoWriMo 2018 Day 11
write a poem that addresses the future, answering the questions “What does your future provide? What is your future state of mind? If you are a citizen of the “union” that is your body, what is your future “state of the union” address?

Today
Lying in my path
A reminder of You
Twig cross created by the wind’s breath
Speaks loudly
Cinquain
Yesterday as I went out to get my mail it was windy and raining so I was walking with my hood up and head down, when I noticed what looked like a tiny beautiful cross lying in a pool of water on the blacktop. It was fashioned of two light colored twigs that apparently were blown by the wind to end up in that position. The way the light hit it it almost appeared to look golden. It stopped me in my tracks that’s for sure! As I pulled out my phone to snap a picture I thanked God for sending me this reminder on the day before Palm Sunday!
They “Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” John 12:13 KJV

God is:
Promising a good future. It’s
Obtainable and
Securable, if you are
Susceptible and ready to be
Imaginable! Will it be a
Breeze? No, more
Likely it will take hard work. It won’t be
Easy, but it is possible to achieve.

Think positive!
With God all things are Possible! (Matthew 19:26)

I worried
And wondered although
God said don’t
Syllable Lune
Sound familiar?
God says not to worry yet again I find myself doing so.
God says not to wonder about the future yet I often do that too.
Why do I do that?
He’s shown me time and time again that He’s trustworthy, that He’ll always be there for me, that He loves me and cares for me, and wants to heal me and give me an abundant blessed life, yet when a new problem arises I somehow find myself lapsing back into worry and wonder.
Ah, “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” said Jesus (Matthew 26:41)
Forgive me God.
I love You and I am so happy that you love me and are patient with me.
…“Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief” Mark 9:24

We smiled, chittering and chattering
As daylight filled with bright sunshine
Spilled upon us walking sprightly.
In the distance a lion roared
But the sound did not reach
Our quiescent ears
Dulled by sleep.
Our guard down,
The lion
Strikes!
Caught
Off guard
We scramble
To stand and fight
The enemy attack.
Unprepared for battle,
Head and heart vulnerable
To fleshly fear and worldly anger,
We attempt to vanquish our beastly foe
Unprotected. We cry out for God to help us!
