I just keep on tryin’
Though life can be tough
When I feel like cryin’
I just keep on tryin’
When things get kinda rough
I just keep on tryin’
Though life can be tough
Triolet

Hello Miss Kitty
Dressed in your Christmas pretty
Singing a little ditty
All about the the city
Sounds kinda gritty
What a pity

Stepping out of my comfort zone
It’s difficult, thats true
Life is taking on different tone
Stepping out of my comfort zone
I’m out sharing, not sitting alone
Lots to see, lots to do
Stepping out of my comfort zone
It’s difficult, thats true

Strings of bubble lights
With tinsel
Childhood tree adorned

Know no freedom
Mired in slavery

Modern slavery exists today in many places worldwide. Be it sexual exploitation, forced marriage, or forced labor, many women, men and children are victims.
You can help set them free by spreading awareness, making a donation to help one of the many organizations in their fight to stop this, or simply just pray that those who can help or intervene will do so.
I have teamed up with Dressember.org this month as a Advocate to spread awareness and raise funds. If you’d like to donate to my team’s campaign “Help Stop the Chains of Abuse” I would very much appreciate your support.
I will be giving a free handmade Origami Dress Ornament to anyone who makes a donation of $5.00 or more by December 15th.

Thank you.

Ground is frosty white
Squirrel scurrying for acorns
Hither, thither, yon
Haiku

He catches each tear
Not one escapes His sight
Rest assured saints
He’s kept every teardrop
That you have ever shed
And listed each one
Counted every sorrow
They’re all in His record book
Choka
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
Psalm 56:8

Red carpets of leaves
Gold falling all about me
Feel like royalty
Haiku

As darkness creeps in,
Fear raises its ugly head.
Silence prevails.
I pray for a solution.
Suddenly light fills the room!

The power went out this evening all over town. No one seemed to know what caused the widespread outage.
It was near supper time and getting close to sunset. Darkness was slowly coming upon us and hunger was also. The silence was deafening in my home as I’d become accustomed to hearing the sound of the refrigerator, computer and hum of other appliances. Time passed slowly. I wondered how much longer we all would be without the conveniences electricity brings. I tried not to use my phone in order to save the battery since I didn’t know when I’d be able to charge it again. I prayed whatever happened would get repaired soon.
And then, after waiting an hour and a half the lights came back on! What a welcoming sight! It’s amazing how dependent we’ve become on electricity isn’t it?
